In 2018, the Team Asobi of Japan Studio had concocted a fun virtual reality experience intended for PlayStation VRthe excellent Astro Bot Rescue Mission. For the launch of the PS5, Nicolas Doucet and his team did it again with Astro's Playroomjust as cute and which mainly served to demonstrate the potential of the DualSense. From, Team Asobi became a studio PlayStation in its own right, but until now we didn't know what the Tokyo developers were working on. Rumors about a return of the little robot were circulating, with a reveal in May during an event PlayStation. It was therefore true since ASTRO BOT has just been presented at the conclusion of the State of Play of this night.
Fans of crazy and colorful platform games should be in heaven with ASTRO BOT, which will be released on September 6, 2024 exclusively on PS5. In just over three minutes, the video already shows us a myriad of environments and situations of gameplay able to delight us, and this is just a sample of what Team Asobi has concocted in recent years. Hello everyone ! On behalf of Team Asobi, I have the immense privilege of revealing our new game ASTRO BOT which will be released on PlayStation 5.
Since the release of the PlayStation 5 console and Astro's Playroom, I have received many positive comments saying that the game was funny, that it used the DualSense wireless controller in a fun way, and that its homage to 25 years of he story of PlayStation was poignant. From the bottom of our little robotic hearts, we thank you all for your support!
Many of you have asked for a complete Astro game. We have heard your requestsand today, Astro is back in a massive space adventure, the biggest yet.
In this brand new game you will explore 6 galaxies and over 80 levels in search of Astro's lost crew. Hold on to your speeder and discover each of these unique planets, passing through lush forests, sandy beaches, erupting volcanoes or even more surprising places, like a huge hourglass or the canopy of a tree singing!
To help you in this mission, Astro can use over 15 new abilities, which will offer you different unique play styles. As you would expect for an Astro game, all these mechanics take advantage of the DualSense controller, its haptic feedback and its adaptive triggers, so you can feel every little step during this great adventure. Among the many new powers, you will find Barkster, the bulldog booster which allows you to dash in the air and pierce enemies, metal and glass, the Frog Gloveswhich increase the range of your hits and allow you to swing, and the giant sponge, which allows you to absorb water from your surroundings to make it swell and cause immeasurable damage (albeit a little wet). Combined with Astro's improved controls, these new powers take your platforming experience to a whole new level, while remaining accessible to everyone. We can't wait to see you try it out and get your feedback and impressions.
We've also added a number of opponents, with over 70 new types, which includes merciless bosses at the end of each galaxy. Special mention to the terrible cobra queen Lady Venomara who appears in the trailer and who awaits you in her golden lair. After defeating each boss, you will unveil a fabulous secret, but we don't want to spoil the surprise for you, so we won't say anything. And for those of you looking for a big challenge, our game is packed with die-and-retry levels to test your reflexes.
But that's not all, because during this journey, Astro will reunite with many of his friends from the PlayStation universe. The trailer only shows a few, but we've expanded the cast nicely and we hope to delight all PlayStation fans. And who knows, maybe these characters will play a bigger role this time? (wink)
