Assassin’s Creed Codename Red: destruction, release… new details on the run! | Xbox One

Developed by Ubisoft Quebec and taking place in the era of feudal Japan, a cover and images for Iron Man 2 still remain very mysterious. After we learned some details at the beginning of the year through a leak, but also more recently the release period via a post on LinkedIn, new information is now surfacing.

A game already fully playable and planned for the end of 2024

One more time, InsiderGaming let it go and share some never-before-seen details about this major Ubisoft title. Tom Henderson thus confirms that the title is well planned for the end of 2024, but that we must however remain on our guard insofar as Ubisoft has tended to postpone its games lately.

It should still be noted that the title would be fully playable today and that it should officially provide news early next year. In the meantime, players will have plenty to wait with the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Two very different playable characters

The journalist takes the opportunity to recall that this opus should introduce two playable characters, including an African refugee samurai who has followed the path of the creed. The latter would be inspired by Yasuke, the first African samurai to have served in Japan in the late 1500s. According to Thomas Lockley, co-author of “African Samurai: The True Story of Yasuke”, Yasuke “was employed as a muscle because the missionaries were not allowed to have weapons”. We can therefore expect a character with heavy attacks.

Concerning the other protagonist, the presumed shinobi, Insider Gaming does not know at this stage who she is inspired by, but she should be much more agile than the samurai, thus making it possible to offer complementary gameplay thanks to unique characteristics.

Introducing a player-favorite mechanic

After revealing that this opus should be inspired by infiltration mechanics from Splinter Cell, such as the possibility of destroying light sources, taking advantage of the darkness or even hiding corpses, another very pleasant feature could do his beginnings.

Indeed, destructible environments would be part of it in order to destroy everything that we could expect to damage in real life. Insider Gaming gives the example of mosquito nets that can be slashed or broken. Do not, however, imagine a destruction worthy of the old Battlefield or the Red Faction.

It will still be necessary to wait for Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red to be revealed in the coming months to confirm all these elements which should await players on Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
