Alkahest is a new action role-playing game that has been released, and its first trailer shows some impressive scenes and gameplay features from a first-person perspective.

Well, that looks exciting – we can always use a crisp fantasy role-playing game from the first-person perspective with lots of action, but also some interesting features. Alkahest belongs to this category and has just been announced with an impressive trailer.
The development studio Push On is still a blank slate, but seems to have a lot going for it if you look at the first scenes. The young studio currently consists of 42 employees with different backgrounds from indie to AAA and is based in Cyprus. The studio was founded last year after funding was secured by Alkahest.
The game is set in the fantasy kingdom of Kadanor, where three houses are vying for power. You take on the role of the son of a rather insignificant lord who wants to make a name for himself by investigating goblin raids. You explore a dark, semi-open and rather realistic fantasy world with everything that comes with it.

The story is intended to include personal dramas and politics, but also different factions and a variety of characters. The developers attach great importance to the fact that quests and tasks can be solved in non-linear ways.
The game seems to have some exciting features in store, including dynamic, action-packed combat in close combat or with a bow. You can apparently also use objects from the environment, for example by throwing objects at enemies, destroying objects or setting them on fire.
Alkahest does away with magic and instead uses alchemy. This allows you to create your own potions and oils that have different effects. You can use them to treat your weapons or, as shown in the trailer, open locked entrances. It seems like the system could open up a lot of interesting options.
The developers have set themselves a big goal and have strong role models: “We want to create a believable and highly interactive world with semi-open locations, packed with secrets and adventures. With branching gameplay options, inspired by Dishonored, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and other genre-defining games.”
When and for which platforms Alkahest will be released is currently not known. So far, the game is only available on Steam listed.
