July 25, 2024 was originally intended to be the date for unleashing Frostpunk 2 on humanity. But no, that won't happen. As 11 bit studios announced, the game for the PC will be postponed again significantly. The new date is September 20, 2024. The studio announced this in a Community post via Steam with.
The reason for this is simple, namely the insights and feedback from the beta, which received a lot of praise but, according to the developers, also provided some food for thought.
“Before we get into the details, there is one downside we need to be clear about. As we analyzed your feedback and prioritized the things we want to add to the game, we realized we need more time to complete Frostpunk 2's development so we can do them justice and guarantee the best possible gaming experience at launch. That's why we've made the difficult decision to postpone the release to September 20, 2024,” the statement said.

The changes that are to be implemented by then include adjustments and additions to the game mechanics, including temperature-based gameplay, a new resource and optimizations in construction and management. Adjustments and improvements to UI and UX are also a topic – the HUD is to be more intuitive and meaningful. A new city feature called Zoom Stories is also to be implemented so that you can be closer to the residents later in the game.
Apparently some players have already had the opportunity to test some of the new features and according to the developers, the feedback has been extremely positive. The developers want to keep you regularly updated in the coming weeks until the release.
