In less than two months, the action role-playing game developed by the Chinese studio Game Science will be released “Black Myth: Wukong” for PC and PS5.

To start the new week, we received a new gameplay video for “Black Myth: Wukong” in 4K format. The video lasts around seven minutes and gives us a detailed look at the ambitious action role-playing game. The focus is on the combat system.

The exciting journey of the legendary Monkey King
The story of “Black Myth: Wukong” is based on the well-known novel “Journey to the West”, which is one of the four classic works of Chinese literature. We slip into the role of the legendary Monkey King and, according to official information, find ourselves in a world that is filled with numerous secrets and dangerous enemies.

Just like in the well-known novel, the protagonist not only relies on his impressive strength and classic physical attacks in battle. At the same time, the developers give you access to various tricks and magical abilities. These enable you, for example, to transform into a cicada and avoid enemies unnoticed.
“As the Chosen One, you embark on a journey full of challenges and wonders to uncover the truth behind a glorious legend of the past,” the developers continue.
The Xbox version will be released a little later
The official announcement continues: “Black Myth: Wukong combines a thrilling story with stunning graphics and a unique take on the action RPG formula. Players will explore a fascinating realm filled with the wonders and discoveries of ancient Chinese mythology, stunning landscapes, and a diverse cast of unforgettable characters, based on the acclaimed novel Journey to the West.”
“Black Myth: Wukong” will be released on August 20, 2024 for PC and PS5. Last month, Game Science officials admitted that the Xbox Series X/S appears a little later.
However, the studio has not yet given a concrete date for the Xbox version and has only pointed out that the team needs a little more time to optimize it.
