[3DS] Anemone3DS Theme Manager v3.0.1 available – News and updates posted on LS

About a month after the beta, the Anemone3DS developers released the full version of Anemone3DS v3.0.0 and then a small patch bringing v3.0.1. This is nothing less than the first major release of Anemone3DS in about 6 years! Without further ado, let’s get into the details of this new version.

As a reminder, Anemone3DS is a theme and splash screens manager (startup screens) developed by astronautlevel2, it supports the installation of a single theme on your 3DS up to 10 random themes. It offers you a preview effect for your themes before their installation and installation support for boot splashes (only under Luma3DS).

– Allow x-zip-compressed to be a valid Mime type

– Disabling the “home” button after installing the theme; this has been seen as the cause of a number of corruption problems

– Failing a search in ThemePlaza browser now correctly returns to the previous page, instead of blocking the browser in a frozen state.

– Fixed several bugs related to scrolling and jumping.

New functions:

– Full badge support! Anemone3DS now supports installing badges, with custom sets and set icons. In addition, it is possible to delete badges, keeping the set from which they come and also deleting the set icon. For more information, see our wiki.

– Translation framework to display Anemone3DS in your native language! Currently only Spanish, Portuguese and French are present, but we accept PRs for other languages - feel free to message me or ping me on the ThemePlaza or Nintendo Homebrew discords if you want instructions !

– French translation added by @cooolgamer

– Added Portuguese translation by @iveurne

– Added Spanish translation by @Tristanabs, Angelpro09, and @Gatokun

– Added libcurl fallback so Anemone can scan QR Codes from anywhere – not just HTTP websites.

– Added BCSTM Player for theme previews, meaning Anemone3DS should now more accurately represent what will play in the home menu, and allow easier testing with tools like Kame Editor which don't produce preview ogg file.

– Support for Korean regional systems using home menu patch (thanks to @cooolgamer)

– Assembling a home screen preview if none was found (thanks to @Jan200101)

– Significant performance improvement, especially when scrolling between multiple themes

– New user interface which should be both more intuitive (more button combinations!) and more touchscreen friendly

– Respect parental controls which blocks the user out of the browser and requires a PIN code for access if this restriction is activated.

– Warning user about installing a theme with mono sound – this can cause many audio issues with the home menu.

Fix for v3.0.1:

– Dumping badges containing illegal characters now works as expected

– Installing badges with more than two subfolders now works as expected.

– Automatic saving of badge extdata when the badges are first installed
